Decommissioning the remaining gas holder

We will make a major financial contribution towards decommissioning the remaining operational gas holder at the Windsor House Gas Holder Station on Windsor Bridge Road.

Recent press reports and council announcements have acknowledged that the remaining operational gas holder presents a major hurdle to the regeneration of Bath Western Riverside. The inspector of the Bath Core Strategy has recognised that the decommissioning of this remaining gas holder on Windsor Bridge Road will remove this major barrier, opening up the full long term regeneration potential for Bath’s riverside corridor.

The existence of the gas holder:

• Prevents Bath Western Riverside from further development

• Prevents the regeneration of Bath Press

• Is an environmental blot on the landscape
